Doctor Pamela Bird along with close friends Tookie and Don Hensley were killed when Birds’ Cessna 182 impacted the hillside above Lake Pend Oreille near Hope Idaho. Low clouds and visibility may have obscured the mountains at the time of the crash.
Doctor Pamela Bird’s husband and medical doctor Forest Bird, died on August 2nd, 2015. Pamela Bird and her husband Forrest Bird are the Founders of the Bird Aviation Museum and Invention Center which is the world’s only aeromedical museum. The museum includes many of Forest Bird’s inventions including the medical respirator, the anti-g suit pressure regulator and multiple medi-evac devices.
